“One Solitary Life”
“He was born in an obscure
village, the child of a peasant
woman. He grew up in another
village, where He worked in a
carpenter shop until He was
thirty. Then for three years He
was an itinerant preacher. He
never wrote a book. He never
held an office. He never had a
family or owned a home. He didn’
t go to college. He never visited a
big city. He never traveled two
hundred miles from the place
where he was born. He did none
of the things that usually
accompany greatness. He had
no credentials but Himself.
He was only thirty-three when the
tide of public opinion turned
against Him. His friends ran
away. One of them denied Him.
He was turned over to his
enemies and went through the
mockery of a trial. He was nailed
to a cross between two thieves.
While He was dying, His
executioners gambled for His
garments, the only property He
had on earth. When He was
dead, He was laid in a borrowed
grave through the pity of a
friend. Twenty centuries have
come and gone, and today He is
the central figure of the human
race.  All the armies that ever
marched, all the navies that ever
sailed, all the parliaments that
have ever sat, all the kings that
have ever reigned, put together,
have not have not affected the
life of man on this earth as much
as that one solitary life.”

Little Eyes Upon You

There are little eyes upon you
And they're watching night and day.
There are little ears that quickly,
Take in every word you say.
There are little hands all eager,
To do anything you do:
And a little child who's dreaming
Of the day they'll be like you.

You're the little angel's idol,
You're the wisest of the wise.
In their little mind about you,
No suspicions ever rise.
They believe in you devoutly,
Hold all you say and do;
They will say and do in your way,
When they're grown up just like you.

There's a wide eyed little child
Who believes you're always right;
And their eyes are always open
And they watch you day and night.
You are setting an example
Everyday in all you do;
For the little child who's waiting
To grow up, and be like you.
  • Jesus had no servants, yet
    they called Him Master.
  • Had no degree, yet they
    called Him Teacher.
  • Had no medicines, yet
    they called Him Healer.
  • Had no army, yet kings
    feared Him..
  • He won no military battles,
    yet He conquered the
    world.
  • He committed no crime,
    yet they crucified Him.
  • He was buried in a tomb,
    yet He lives today.
