Breakfast went well on Sunday Jan. 11th, 2009, for Jack Statham's Sunday

How Did You Spend the Day?

Did you waste the day or lose it?
Was it well or poorly spent?
Did you leave a trail of kindness
Or a scar of discontent?
As you close your eyes in slumber,
Do you think God would say,
"You have earned one more tomorrow"
By the good you did today?

We Have Been Saved to Serve
We are not here to learn, but to lift.  Galations 6:10
We are not here to absorb, but to give forth.  Luke 6:38
We are not here to ministered unto, but to minister.  Mark 10:35-45
We are not here to be served, but to serve others.  John 21:15-17
We are not here to hinder, but to help.  Mark 14:3-9
We are not here to be a burden to others, but to bear
the burdens of others.  Galations 6:2
We are not here to stand on the sidelines and criticize the players,
but to get in the game and help win the victory.  Mark 16:15

For taking their time on Saturday to
help us!  You are sooooo appreciated!
If I should fail to do the work
which God designed for me,
In all the world, there's not a soul
To do my job, you see.

Some may accomplish what I could not,
And gather much fame and wealth,
But no other creature which God has made
Can do my work, but myself.

So, however humble my task may be,
And how much tempted to quit,
I'll remember each day as I press along,
There's nobody else to do it.

-Dale Crowley
I don't know how to say it
but it somehow seems to me
That maybe we are stationed
where God wanted us to be;
That the little place I'm filling
is the reason for my birth,
And just to do the work I do
He put me on this earth.

If God had wanted otherwise,
I reckon He'd have made
Me just a little different,
of a worse or better grade.
And since God knows and
understands
all things of land and sea,
I fancy that He placed me here
just where he wanted me.

Sometimes I get to thinking
as my labors I review
That I should like a higher place
with greater tasks to do.
But I came to the conclusion,
when the envying is stilled,
That the post to which God sent me
is the post He wanted filled.

So I plod along and struggle
in the hope when day is through
That I'm really necessary
to the things God wants to do.
And there isn't any service
I can give which I should scorn,
For it may be just the reason
God allowed me to be born.
